Brita brings experience as a nonprofit internal evaluator with a background in psychological assessment and testing. She has a passion for making evaluation more inclusive, representative, and approachable. Outside of work, you can find her trail running in the woods and spending time with her family.

Brita’s time as both an internal and external evaluator gives her firsthand experience and insight into different stakeholder priorities, such as perspectives on the different uses of an evaluation. She especially enjoys the analysis phase, when everything contributed to an evaluation begins to coalesce into a clear story. In addition to expertise in conducting evaluation activities, Brita brings experience of thinking through the big picture from designing evaluation frameworks and needs assessments.

In partnering with clients, Brita tries to meet people where they are at in terms of their level of evaluation experience. She enjoys co-creating evaluation with clients and aims to build clients’ capacity so they are able to contribute and find what gives them energy in the evaluation process. She welcomes and encourages feedback throughout the process to ensure clients are engaged with the evaluation and find it meaningful. Her project management experience strengthens her consulting, as she is able to be flexible while holding onto core tenets of a project and a client’s needs.

Brita is an expert in affordable housing. She previously served as an internal evaluator for Aeon, an affordable housing nonprofit. In her time there, she also co-led the Twin Cities Affordable Housing Research Collaborative, a network of nonprofit housing developers that examined the effect of a criminal history on housing outcomes. Brita also worked with Neighborhood House, which provides wraparound services for families in St. Paul.
